The Silent Wings Museum is a great place to visit. It just opened in October of 2002 and features the story of WWII glider pilots that were trained right here in Lubbock several years ago. Through its halls you will learn the story of what it was like to glide in behind enemy lines land your aircraft and then become one of the unit members that you just flew in. It is located on the airport grounds and is open seven days a week. Visit their web site at www.silentwingsmuseum.com. |
